Producer's Notes
The session that established Art Blakey as a leader and showcased Clifford Brown in a burning, live situation for the first time, the two volumes of "A Night At Birdland" are still among the best selling in Blue Note history. The label only recorded the four short sets that took place on one night. As a result, only four full unissued performances remained in the can.
