Got records you’re ready to part with? Whether it’s a box from the shed, an inherited collection or a lifetime of digging, we’d love to take a look. Wax Museum Records has been buying and selling vinyl in Melbourne since 2005.

How it works

1. Get in touch. Fill in the form below with a rough count, the main genres and a few key artists. A Discogs link or some photos of the shelves helps too (you can email photos to waxmuseumsales@gmail.com).
2. We take a look. Smaller lots can come into the shop at 250 Flinders St (basement). For larger or more valuable collections, we can arrange a visit anywhere in metro Melbourne.
3. We make an offer. We'll give you a fair, honest price based on condition, pressing, rarity and demand.
4. Get paid. Agree on a price and we pay on the spot, by cash or bank transfer.

What we're after

Jazz, soul, funk and blues; metal; electronic, house and techno; reggae, dub, Rock, punk and alternative; and world music; plus quality reissues and rarities. We're choosier with damaged records, easy listening, budget box sets and classical, and we don't buy 78s.

How we price

Online asking prices aren't always what records actually sell for. When we buy a collection, we take on everything, from the quick sellers to the slow movers, plus the work of cleaning, grading, pricing and listing. Our offers reflect that, and we're always happy to explain how we got there.
