Note: Three alternate takes add valuable music to the legacies of Sonny Clark and John Coltrane. The mono version of this album contained the trumpet and piano solos from the alternate take of "Speak Low" edited into the master take and the piano solo from the alternate take of "With A Song In My Heart" edited into the master take. The stereo album contained the master takes unedited. For this CD, both takes of each tune are heard in full, as is an alternate take of "Sonny's Crib". (M. Cuscuna)
